Today's post, readers, is inspired by a Scripture passage. It is about arms and protection.
When arms come to school, how are we armed?
What kind of armor do you wear?
We know that bullet prove vests, helmets, knee pads, shields, guns, tear gas, and masks are not magic against bullets and swords.
Students and teachers do not dress for war. Collateral damage extends beyond the local community in gun free zones where surprise gorilla attacks are least expected.

I know very little about armor from the past, so not sure how accurate the above link is but...evidently knights wore chains.
Also what happens when there is a gun. The one speaker calls the gun a "stupid invention". Hmm.. Armor was not 100% save with large knifes either. Those poor horses.
What happens if there a "chink in the armor"? English language is interesting. See link below.

I know Camelot, including the JFK years, and Nights in White Satin from the Moody Blues. For years I thought it was spelled "knight". The album's name is Days of Future Past. Wasn't there a knight on the album cover? Were do the nights and knights go?
What do those lyrics mean? Do we love our children with discipline and common sense? Love is ...well, Ally may tell you! But, first the song.

JFK did not wear a helmet. There was a devil and a weak link in the chain of command regarding his assassination. If he wore a vest, would it have helped? He was the Commander in Chief in an open limo. He was not armed.

People die in full metal jackets.
So how do we arm ourselves for trouble?
Knowledge, awareness, prayer.
When the armor fails, are you strengthened with spiritual armor? It is a legitimate ASK. What happens after school attacks? There is a pattern.
How do we arm ourselves as messengers? Make no mistake, if you have to discuss problematic behavior, be prepared with information that would hold up in court.
I post reflections or explanations by others, with videos, because I am not a Scripture Scholar. My faith practice is Catholic but for many, many years, I have watched or listened to different practices for their reflections. I do believe God speaks. I am not an expert in interpretation, clearly, but I do have a take.

We have to be smarter than the troubled child with a weapon with prayer, knowledge and intuition. Trouble may come your way, but not a bullet.
I do not want our schools to get more prison like or turn into armed camps.
Prayer keeps us from just singing. It can lead into battle. Soldiers die in battle. They pray Psalm 91.
For a long time now, staff and kids are dying in schools or at school sporting events. There are no long parades or huge funerals with fire works for them. And actually, I am glad about that. Who would stay in the classroom on the funeral day?
Rosa asks, are you tired yet? Then John asked, Ask not, what..but Ask what you can do...
Scarlet "T" says faith over fear and philosophies of school principals matter.
