I am reading a book, setting is 1789, but of course it was written by a contempory of ours so I can not help reading it as though the time is today. A few muskets here, a few long dresses there, who can tell the difference? Women's lib plays a huge part of course. The heroine is a midwife. The subject matter is heavy with rape, vengeance, murder, cover ups and I am only 146 pages in. It is a mother' s story.
Mothers on a short list of school yard killers are in the news. Trying to find some English reports. No matter, English is a primary language in the Philippines
Reasons: bullying, on line gaming, online influence, guns, blaming America? Unlocked access to the school and access to guns. Well planned. Is it part of the Columbine effect? Mrs. Kleibold must be so proud if that is the case or is she?
One short list mother wants to sue the mother of the other short list. The lists grow.

Yesterday in the city of Tacloban. Today the autopsies. Tomorrow who knows where the list will gather names. God reveals pieces of the puzzle. Try listening before tomorrow comes. The violence is a repeat offender whether it is 1789, 1998, 1999 or 2026. Some events are frozen in time and never completely thaw.
Sometimes, it is meant to be. Read my teacher's story. Lots of moms in it. No one made it to a short list under my watch.
