Stopping School Violence One Teacher's Silent Scream

Location. Location. Location.

Frisco is now added to the list of internationally known as scene of a violent death of a student.

It could not happen here. This is (name of city), you do not have to lock your doors. No one carries a (weapon), this is (name of city).

I get it. I feel safe where I am, most of the time. But no place is immune. Even Dorothy knew that. She delt with a cranky neighbor who gave her nightmares.

Did the victim feel immune in his community?

Some videos that would indicate Frisco was not immune.

The reporter quotes a witness about just that or is this fabricatiion?

Schools, in the best of real estate locations, are subject to human behavior. My school in 1998 certainly was. It still is a "white picket fence" community, but not immune.

Did you read my IDEA posts? There is a reference to an upscale neighborhood crime near a high school in the neighboring town to my former school district. Six degrees (or less) of separation is real.

Recently,  I commented on a YT post about the KA case. One person told me to read the transcripts of the trial of KA and know the law. I am not sure what side of the fence the person fell on. The law is pretty clear about weapons and schools.

My point that the location of the death was at a school event is important. And just because someone is in prison does not mean that person is lost to family. Of course, the integrity of the family would decide that.

Only a few select reporters and the jury were able to listen in the court. A judge put a gag order on the whole case not long after the attack in April 2025 and would not allow cameras in the courthouse during the trial. This was not a federal trial.  Why?

The jury listened and determined a guilty of murder charge. The rest of us are only commenters and have no authority in that decision. The reporters in the courtroom did not just report. They commented.

Lawyers are making a killing on pontificating outside of the courtroom. I did not see any of the YT practicing lawyers run to defend the now convicted murderer last year. Are they running to do the appeal?

I do not write without doing some background research or paying attention to the discussions. I have been paying attention since the stabbing happened. (See other posts about knives or my book.)

The outcome of this trial could unjustly have a national impact with threatened violence. Influencers are not helping. Some are gaining national notoriety.

The school board that employed me in 1998 assumed I did not know the law on school violence in NJ. I did. I learned even more when seeking information for a legal battle. The integrity of that board was non existent. The integrity of some of the YT podcasters is questionable.

This deadly stabbing that took place at a school event was in a town in Texas. The town now knows they are not immune.

These links are about the law.

Knives do not usually raise as much ire as this case has raised. Had it been a gun, well, that would be a horse of a different color, right Dorothy?

Knives on high school property or at an event are illegal. Now we know why?

I think this link below is very interesting. Long before the trial, the school setting was of interest to me. It does not appear an emergency response protocol was put in action. Everyone at that track meet were witnesses, just by being there. Now some of them are most likely silent victims. Was the location put on lockdown? The defendant ran. I think all of us are asking, where were the adults? They were certainly found after the stabbing.

To those who want to make it a race issue, that is too bad. Nothing gets solved when we do not judge by the content of one's character.

Read my post on Franklin Regional High School and the damage that a kitchen knife did in the hands of an angry student.

Why is one trial of one death getting so much attention?

And to the commenter, "we are not in Kansas anymore" or BC- Before Columbine.  It is not just a gun in the wrong hands that can kill.

Is your location immune?
