If you have read or listened to any of the links, in my posts, you may need a dose of Hallmark.
I am a serious person. My experiences in 1998 and 2004-2005, made me even more serious. I needed people around me who lightened the load. I found some! I am a woman of faith. My book details how I resolve conflict. Sometimes I write. Always, I pray.
I do not like artificial courage, so I never needed to take anything. With the type of work I do, for the last 10 years, I have learned much. I evidently also knew intuitively and by example. My parents, also serious, never relied on chemicals to lift or depress.
If you read my posts on the lies of Covid, connect some dots. Ignorance is not bliss. Blank pages of ingredients and side effects, please, get real. Please! We know some in the medical field quack.
The serious side of me takes breaks. School violence has not been an easy topic to tackle even in (fact based) opinion pieces and book. My publisher said writing my book should make me cry. It did. And I had written much of it years before publication.
These resesrches who dive into the gory and devil filled details of school violence, hopefully, are not reading Stephen King or watching every Scream movie as entertainment.
I take time away from news based reality. Before 2005, I could watch the news, all four channels! Crime dramas, "who dun its", espionage and some movies, like the Godfather, I enjoyed. I even watched Carrie and thought the story line was good until it wasn't. If you have not seen that horror movie, just substitute fire in a school instead of guns.
My previous blogs explain soap operas. When my life took on some soap opera worthy story lines, I did not need to watch them for entertainment.
My favorite show for a very long time was Scarecrow and Mrs. King, a fine mix of espionage and love story. Chemistry, the actors had chemistry. Scarecrow was very handsome. The team of two helped keep America safe. Watch reruns. Art imitates life and many story lines play out in media news today. Hmm? Conflicts were resolved but violence was often a solution.
I found the Nanny, with Fran and her handsome hunk. I wrote a post on The Nanny. If I could be anyone else, it would be Fran, the character! She wasn't as oppressed or irritating as Lucy. She was smart, daring and well loved! Her antics and "splaining" still make me laugh aloud! The actress/producer has led a serious life. I would choose another costume designer, but I was raised in NJ, not Brooklyn.
In the last week, I have watched 27 Dresses. I can watch it with kids in the room. Best thing about it, even shortened on YouTube, I can watch it again and again.
Now for Hallmark. Life is about conflict and resolution. Hallmark movies deal with serious. But the difference is, conflict is resolved peacefully!
Enjoy a Hallmark movie today! You can find them on many streaming channels and uploaded on YouTube. Unlike the journal writers who become infamous, the Hallmark writers care about entaining without death as the main goal.
The campier movies are hysterical. The Haul Out the Holly and Haul Out the Halloween are light! I know, but you have to watch to believe in life, right?
Live, Love, Laugh ( in that order). Sometimes you need a break from the screaming. None of this is medical advise!
I do believe God has a sense of humor, along with the utimate sense of Justice and Mercy!
Added note: I attended Mass after I set this to publish. The Gospel though serious is about life and joy. The priest in his homily advised "be happy, we are blessed". I can relate to the Gospel and the homily.
Pray. You are not alone. Laugh, it's ok, even when the world mocks.
Hallmark has been a staple of society bringing good news for decades. The Gospel has been bringing Good News for thousands of years.
Love.
