Should you get your law degree before teaching?

Yes and No!

If teachers were lawyers, billable hours would kill the budget. But teachers, not meant to be lawyers, are ignorant of the law. It can be a trap or, let someone, like the VP at Newport News, ignore some vital aspects of school safety and see how much you should know.

This blog tries to educate using many voices.

My book explains in detail, what I knew and did to protect my class. Read it for educational purposes. If you are  afraid to speak up or lacking faith, also read it for strength.

I have been posting follow up since I wrote the book because, after watching a few school related trials this year,  I see that ignorance abounds and has been anything but blissful from elementary school to the university level.

If you read my book, you will be able to connect dots to these videos from 2020. How many school shootings since 2020? How many since 1998? I have lost count. Gun control advocates have not. Do you want another law breaker to take more rights away, including the right to be safe on campus. Do you want the educational staff and personnel who care for your kids to use ignorance as an excuse. Ignorance is not a legal defense.

These links showed up in my feed today. Thanks Google. Think prevention.

The main link is below:

The individual links about myths are below the first one.

Myths explained; Hmm. Connect dots to my book.

Myth 4: Who can know?

Right to know. The ADA representative at ACCC years ago needed a refresher course.

Myth 3: Sharing is caring.

Myth 3 factored in for me. I knew I was sharing.

Myth 2:  Calling the doctor and the doctor said.

From the main website. This is not an endorsement of the company but it does have some ideas when working with IDEA.

What you do not know can kill you or your child.

As I am writing this, a trial is starting in Georgia on Court TV. A toddler is dead at the hands of a mother.  The mother was a high school teacher at the time of death. A boyfriend factors in. That does happen too. I may post links on that in the near future. From CK to this child, Karter, our schools have an obligation to keep people safe. Who is teaching in our schools and college campuses?  Innocent until proven guilty.

Trials we know can take years to come to trial.

Ignorance is not bliss. Let us pray, that the lawyers and administrators, not only know the law, but follow it.
