For over 20 years now since the administration and school board in Northfield, NJ retaliated against me for seeking help for us to deal with a violent child ( read other posts), there have been many school shootings. Some have been massacres. The survivors have predictable responses in grief. But they are victims and see in a limited view. Some only see the weapon used. The world wants an easy fix. There is no easy fix. The weapons are not to blame.
Three newspapers, Denver Post, Hartford Courant, and now the Sun Sentinel out of Broward County, Florida have done research, filed open record lawsuits, and have published articles which should open some minds.
If you are a teacher, an administrator, school board member, have kids, or care one iota about your community, you should read what these newspapers have and continue to report. The next shooter reads. Mental illness or evil genius, the shooters do their research too.
The Sun Sentinel is reporting on reports that point to what I said 20 years ago.
Do you want others to read about the incompetence in your school district after a massacre?
Homicidal/suicidal maniacs bring suffering. It is not painless and it is not of God.
The prophets and those who can see the handwriting on the wall...listen to them.

Child assault prevention from the womb to the classroom. Thoughts and writings of Marian R. Carlino "Was it worth the risk? Yes. Sometimes you have to swim with the sharks." Quote from Hallmark- Love on Safari ending line. My thoughts: "Sharks" need to learn lessons too.
